The Debbie & Cherry Story

Debbie and Cherry, the "Resurrection Rabbit," live on the coast of North Carolina.  They have been involved in Christian ministry to small children since 1989.  When they lived in California, they made weekly visits Orangewood Children's Home, a county facility that temporarily cares for abused children who have been removed from their homes.  Working with Chaplain Edmund Werner and other volunteers through the Protestant Youth Correctional Ministry, they helped provide a weekly chapel service and Sunday school program. The little children loved talking to Cherry and listening to her Bible songs.  Debbie and Cherry have moved to North Carolina, but they still visit Orangewood whenever they travel to Southern California.

Cherry has also been a special "furry friend" to the toddler children at Olive Crest Homes, a non-profit organization that has established nearly 30 homes in Southern California to care for abused children on a long-term basis.  Olive Crest's founders are committed Christians who have encouraged the development of a chaplaincy program to bring God's Word to these kids.  Debbie and Cherry have presented programs at local Christian schools and churches to tell other children about Olive Crest and give them the opportunity to help by filling up special "Koins for Kids" coin banks.  Many Olive Crest children have come to know the Lord through the efforts of Christian staff and volunteers.

Debbie and Cherry have also provided special music programs at the Sheepfold, a Bible-centered ministry providing temporary residential care to women and their children.
